Besides the obvious beach wear and sun protection, please pack hard bottom saddles as sometimes thorns can push through if you go off the path.
We have good quality snorkeling gear in the brown wicker box in the kitchen. We have Games like Settlers of Catan, backgammon, adult and kids dominos, marble solitaire, giant jenga, cards and more are inside the table near the large TV. There is professional table tennis in the game room and pickleball and bocce ball in the garden.
You will find a world-class library in the villa: comprehensive novel selection, kids poetry, art, and more. All are hardback and in perfect condition. Please treat them with love.

How to get there?
On the way from the airport you probably should stop at Centrum to stock up - see below.
It is not a big detour and your will be thankful once you are up in Westpunt.

We recommend that you stock up on food on the way from the airport. Centrum Supermarket is 7 mins away from arrivals. Centrum has great fresh vegetables and a good vegetable, wine, cheese and meat selection. The South African Fleur du Cap Pinotage and Cab is yummy and affordable.
For upscale wine go to Carrefour at Sambil Mall.
The villa has all the essential spices you will need. Do not buy fish as this is fresh from the boats near the villa.

<< When you arrive at the PUNTA KALKI security gate you will be met by the security team. We will introduce you via Whatsapp before you arrive. They will give you a clicker for the gate.

There is a small detour due to road construction - please review this video below.
The keys are in the lockbox in the garage. The code is 0018.
You will find two keys. One opens the front door and all the rooms. The notched key will open the outside side doors. (Please latch them so that the wind doesn’t cause them to slam and break.)
Please look after the keys and put them back in the lockbox (and spin the numbers) when you are not in the villa.
Keys & Clicker
Keys in the lock box. One has a notch: that is for the outside doors in the lower bedrooms. The other is for everything else.
You will get a clicker from the security guard at the gate - please leave it with them when you check out.

Doors
By the pool there are two electronic doors. I leave them open when I go to sleep or leave the villa and simply lock the bedroom doors.
To open hold the up button (see right) for a few seconds and then it will automatically open on its own.
If you need to close the doors, you need to hold the down button continuously while it closes for safety reasons (do not put any item in the line of the door or the sensor will detect this motion and stop and open again.)
You can open the bifold facing the garden but please close it when you leave as the wind can gust and blow things into the pool.
You cannot open the bifold facing Watamula preservation area as the wind is too strong for these doors.
Important: The wind can be very strong and the front door and all side doors from the bedrooms that you open need to be secured. If you do not, they may fly shut and the glass will break.
Wi-Fi
The Wifi is strongest on the island with 100 down and 40 up. Enjoy.

We can introduce you a taxi driver to pick you up at the airport - the taxi can wait while you stock up at the supermarket on the way to the villa - see below.
When you are at the villa, you can rent the new 5 seater electric car. $75 for the day and $450 for the week.
For security, under the driver’s seat you will see a small switch. Please click this down when you lock up the car as this will lock the engine. Click it up again when you return.
Transportation
Safes & Security
There are safes in each room. The main floor safes can hold smaller objects … camera, wallet, passport … and the bedroom on the upper level has a large safe for computers etc. This safe uses a key. It is in the lock.
To lock and unlock the safe doors, enter 1400 and the button A
The resort has a security gate and the villa has five exterior Google security cameras.
Cam One: Above the front door facing the garden
Cam two: Facing the back stairs.
Cam Three: Facing the north cliff above the north pool.
Cam Four: Facing towards Watamula
Cam Five: Facing the outside garage.
It is fine to leave the pool doors open when you are in or around the villa. You can leave the pool doors open at night if you wish.
For security, please always keep the front door locked and any valuable items in the safes.
There is a lockbox for keys in the garage. Code will be supplied. Please look after the keys and put them in back in the lockbox and spin the numbers when you are not in the villa.
The general emergency phone number in Curaçao is 911.
Fun
We have a professional Bocce court as well as a professional Table Tennis in the game room. And the first professional Pickleball Court on the island.
You will find pickleball paddles, balls and other sport equipment in the basket under the television and games in the island table. See image below.

Entertainment
You will find a Google Speaker in the main room. Just say “Hey Google play” and ask for your favourite tune. If you say “Hey Google play [your tune] on Spotify” it will play on both speakers at the same time.
For example say “Hey Google play Stan Getz on spotify”
The 86” television is loaded with Netflix and other entertainment channels. In the middle room downstairs is a second Google-powered TV for the kids. They have PrimeVideo and other channels - please use your personal logo-in to purchase movies.
When you turn on the television, click the MENU button on the remote and then navigate to Prime or Youtube etc.

Temperatures range between 27 - 32. It is a dry heat and wind and shade are a tonic. If you need to use the air conditioner, please keep the doors and windows closed.
There are a number of commercial-grade fans around the home. Enjoy.
Please switch OFF the air conditioner and fans when you are not in the room or the villa. This is important as the SOLAR panels need to recharge during the day. Thanks :)

As Curacao is a desert island, we ask that you please do not waste water and that you take short showers :) The hot water is heated by the sun so in the evenings the tank may run low if you take long after-dark showers.
Do not use the hot water at the kitchen sink as this may end in colder showers.

Water
Power!
All outlets are 220 volts except the outlets in the kitchen and livingroom that have a flush inner US outlet are 110 volts. (See image.)
Most electronics (computers and phones) work with 110v and 220v ; however if you have a 110 volt-only device, do not plug it into the 220 volt outlets - it will burn out.
Also do not move the appliances that are in the kitchen from 110v to 220v or you will burn them out.

Kitchen
Being a part-time chef, we have a fully stocked professional kitchen :)
Some of the appliances include a Panini Grill (please turn the grill OFF when you are finished) and a professional blender. Please do not move them from the plugs.
We have LED lamps for the dinning room table. Tap the top to turn on and move you finger around the top to dim. The LED light chargers are in the kitchen between the two bifold doors.
The stove is a professional gas unit. Open the gas and light the pilot. The pilot should always be ON. If the pilot goes off simply light is again. >>
Open the gas: perpendicular is off and parallel is on. Then turn on the gas and light the flame at the same time.
Refrigerator
We hope you enjoy our wonderful two smart refrigerators. We are so proud of them and please enjoy them carefully :)
If you knock on the glass the light will turn on so you can see the content of the inner door (Door-in-door technology) If you select to open the glass door you can quickly grab beers and other easily accessible products without opening the large door.
If you need product in the inter refrigerator, then open with the bottom handle.
There is fresh water and ice in both fridges. All water is distilled and all air in the fridge is UV treated.
Pool
The pool has a shallow end and a deep end. It is great for lap swimming. One lap in our pool is nearly 40 meters. 20 laps is 3/4 of a kilometre or half a mile.
We have upgrade the pool to magnesium - meaning no more chlorine. By switching from traditional chlorine to magnesium, you can open your eyes underwater with no irritation and your hair and skin will feel soft.
Important: All young children are required to wear a lifesaver vest while on the deck. All swimming must be supervised by an adult at all times. No standing or sitting on the infinity wall permitted. Please use plastic glasses in the pool area.
Pool lights: in the evening switch on the pool lights in the kitchen near the espresso machine. Double click and the pool will light up for 50 min. It is on a timer so just click it again when the lights go off. Enjoy!

Pools are dangerous! Please stay within arms length of children. Close the patio doors when you are unable to supervise.
Cliff Rules

It is 40 feet from the sea, so please do not walk on the edge.

Please try and climb down to the sea. It is dangerous.

It is a cactus sanctuary so please do not stand on baby cacti.
Luxury Beds
Each deluxe suite at Cliff Villa has a luxury Ghostbed cooling mattress. Especially selected for a perfect Caribbean holiday, it is the coolest and most comfortable sleep you will ever have :)
The pillows are Hungarian goose down.
Cliff + Beach
Please do not go too close to the edge of the cliff or try and climb down to the sea. The currents are strong.
Also please do not pick or stand on the small cacti (cactuses) that grow on and between the rocks.
It is safe to swim at Playa Kalki beach 2 minutes away where the sand is white and the current calm. You can book your scuba at that same beach at GoWest Diving.
On Playa Kalki there is a restaurant and bar with lounge chairs and sea deck. See photos below …
(Do not collect coral and shells is these are illegal to take this out of the country. )
You can walk up the coast to a secret pirate beach.

Fish Beach
Walk (20 mins), Bike (10 min) or drive (5 min) to Playa Grandi.
The fishing boats come in throughout the day but 11:30 is a good time to go and check on the day’s catch. Tuna and Red Snapper are my preferred fish. With Tuna, ask them to fillet the meat (do not cut into steaks!) - Red Snapper can be grilled or stewed whole.
If you walk, there is a shortcut through the ravine after the Sol Foods restaurant.
Wildlife
We have never seen any insects or wildlife that are dangerous. If you see a tan scorpion it is not poisonous. Simply hit it with a shoe. Any snakes are harmless garden ophidians. Enjoy the nature of Curacao.
Waste & Water
Unfortunately there is no recycling on the island - we are working at it.
Water from the tap is drinkable and delicious - do not buy plastic.
Please take your garbage down to the large garbage can at the bottom of the back stairs. Please tie it up and close the lid.
Please throw the coffee grinds, wine corks, seeds and peels in the garden.

Kitchen Espresso Magic
This machine only works in the 110 power outlet. Do not try to move it please.
Switch on machine (when not using please turn off.)
Place coffee portafilter under the coffee grinder and push once - it will auto fill.
Tamp down the grinds using 30 lbs until you cannot see the silver of the tamper
Insert the portafilter left to right until secure and push espresso (1 cup) or Americano (2 cups icon)
Done - add water on right if needed. (I recommend the you use the espresso setting and then add hot water.)
We try to leave the highest-end Lavazza beans under the cupboard for you. Please treat the machine with love.
Place under the coffee grinder and push once to start and PUSH AGAIN to stop.
Tamp down 30 lbs
Click double for an Americano

Please make sure the AC and fans are off.
